Smart Home Technologies

Technology advances have made our daily lives a little easier and this is certainly the case with smart home technologies. These are voice activated technologies that have an expansive range of features and are compatible with home devices such as smart bulbs. The features can be a great support for people with memory problems such as setting reminders, timers and adding upcoming appointments.

There are two common smart home technologies on demonstration at the Memory Technology Library; the Amazon Alexa and Google Home. The occupational therapist can demonstrate how these are used and show you key features that may support you.

There can be a lot to consider before purchasing, such as Wi-Fi and costs, requirements and set up, so it is worth discussing this with a technology advisor at your local electrical store. Most electrical stores have excellent tech support workers who can help you with smart homes.
